MEET NATHALIE HOFFMAN, FOUNDER & CEO
Nathalie Hoffman is CEO of Los Angeles-based Brazil Business Link, a firm that provides strategic advice and business development services across a wide range of industries, including renewable transportation fuels, entertainment, disaster planning, prevention & response, and international mega sporting events such as the World Cup and the Olympics. The common denominator among BBL’s clients is that their projects or businesses have a U.S. – Brazil nexus. Industries of special expertise are motion picture, television and streaming production, distribution and financing, and advertising and commercials.
Ms. Hoffman, a member of the California Bar with an M.B.A., has been doing business in and with Brazil for over 30 years. She is highly regarded by her peers, having been rated AV-Preeminent, the highest rating possible for both legal ability and ethics, by Martindale Hubbell for over 25 years. Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, she assists American companies seeking to sell their products or services to Brazilian companies or the Brazilian government, including recommending Brazilian counsel, finding and vetting prospective partners, providing advice on strategy for entering the market, assisting in the preparation of responses to RFP’s and negotiating deals. Similarly, she assists Brazilian companies with their projects or businesses in the U.S., including following the evolution of laws and regulations that affect them and representing them before agencies of the State and Federal governments. Formerly a lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers and a partner of the international law firm of Sidley Austin LLP, Ms. Hoffman’s law firm, Nathalie Hoffman & Associates, may provide the documentation of resulting contracts or legal research where applicable.
Ms. Hoffman served two terms as president of the Brazil-California Trade Association and was an advisor to the California-Brazil partnership, an initiative of the California legislature. Nathalie got a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, graduating with High Distinction, and subsequently earned her J.D., Order of the Coif, at UCLA Law School. More recently, she earned her M.B.A. at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Ms. Hoffman has spoken on or moderated numerous panels related to Brazil at conferences, including at the Milken Institute’s annual Global Conference. When she speaks in Brazil, she does so in Portuguese. In addition to her work as a lawyer and business consultant, Ms. Hoffman has fifteen years’ experience as an entertainment industry arbitrator.
